Hello, I'm Emily.
By day I'm a therapist. By night I'm a designer of many things: clothing, interiors, old farmhouse restorations, songs, and the occasional therapy game. I'm a mom, a gardener, a lover of history, philosophy, and far too many British period dramas.
I've never been able to sit still. My mind is always making something, and House of Graeme is where all of it finally comes together.
House of Graeme is named for my family's roots as a sept of Clan Graham. I've always been drawn to that heritage and to the pastoral life that goes with it: wool coats worn in from years of use, cozy tartan and plaid flannels, clothes made to last rather than to replace. Our pieces blend that Scottish heritage with a little American homestead spirit.
I'm not a trained designer, and I won't pretend to be. What I have is a deep love for quality, a lot of dreams, and a very good reason to build something that lasts.
Made to be inherited
I can't stand fast fashion: cheap polyester that is incredibly uncomfortable, and made to fall apart after a season and end up in a landfill. I want the old ways back. Clothes built like old appliances, the kind that still worked forty years later. The wool coat someone's family fought over when grandma passed, or that you snapped up at an estate sale because they just don't make them like that anymore.
That's what we're making. Natural fibers, honest construction, and designs meant to be worn, repaired, and handed down. Buy less, keep it longer, waste nothing. A return to simpler times, one well-made piece at a time.
Why our pieces cost more
Our prices are higher than what you'll find at the mall, and that's on purpose. A House of Graeme piece isn't a quick purchase. It's an investment.
That price is what pays for real wool and natural fibers from quality mills, careful tailoring, and construction that holds up to years of wear and repair. It's also what lets us pay the people who make our clothes fairly, and build a small business that can support our family for the long haul.
One well-made coat you wear for twenty years costs far less, per wear, than a new cheap one every season. Buy once, buy well, and pass it on.
Why this is a family business
We're a neurodivergent family. My 13-year-old daughter is autistic, creative, and has a real gift for art and design. She's already part of House of Graeme: I sketch the rough ideas, and she turns them into the illustrations that bring each design to life. I'm building this as work that fits the way our family is wired, and a place where she can keep growing, doing work she loves.

Why pre-order?
We're small and independent, so we don't mass produce and hope it sells. Each design goes into production only when enough of you commit to it. That means no waste, no overstock, and every piece made for someone who truly wants it.
